Crimea : One Year After

The human rights association Amnesty International has published its report about violations of the rights to freedom of expression, assembly and association in Crimea

“One year after the annexation of Crimea by Russia,“ writes Amnesty International in its introduction into the state of annexed Crimea (report is to be downloaded here), “the report ‘Violations of the rights to freedom of expression, assembly and association in Crimea’ highlights human rights abuses by the de facto authorities, including the failure to investigate a series of abductions and torture of their critics.”

According to Amnesty their is an unrelenting campaign of intimidation against pro-Ukrainian media, campaigning organizations, Crimean Tatars and other individuals critical of the regime.
